Welcome to summer!

It’s lovely to see some sunshine finally and we are already well settled back into school.

Our learning will be focused around the Anglo-Saxons, from History and Geography to Writing and even some art.

We are using a version of the epic poem Beowulf by Michael Morpurgo for our reading and writing.  The children have already considered what role literary tradition has to play in our ideas of monsters and heroes.

We will still be swimming on Tuesdays and PE for both classes is on Wednesday afternoon.  We hope to be outside practising for sports day so please ensure that your child has a white tee-shirt, black or navy shorts and suitable shoes.  We also hope to get outside to run a mile when we can so we would ask that your child has suitable trainers that they can leave in school for the whole week.

Homework for the whole half term has been sent home but your child needs to only complete one piece per week from the corresponding week.  They will have chance to share what they do in class on a Friday.

We are happy to answer any questions at the end of the day and hope that everyone has a happy and exciting half term.

Happy New Year!
